Daniel joined the group in September 2016. Prior to working with the Expert Group, he received his BA in Liberal Arts & Sciences (Hons., cum laude) at Leyden University, majoring in World Politics. He completed a minor concentration in the Environment at McGill University (magna cum laude). During his time at Leyden, he served as President of his college’s Model United Nations association.
From September 2016 to September 2017, Daniel was intensively involved, working with Jaap Spier, in the writing of the commentary to the Climate Principles for Enterprises, discussions of content and strategy with the Expert Group and external parties, the processing of resulting feedback, and creating publicity for the principles, including by delivering a presentation at the World Environment Conference 2017 in New Delhi.
Daniel was a policy research intern at Greenpeace the Netherlands from January 2017 to July 2017, researching and writing an internal advisory report for the Food For Life campaign on international climate change policy relating to agriculture, with a specific focus on the EU Common Agricultural Policy.
Since September 2017, Daniel is pursuing an MSc in Global Politics at the London School of Economics & Political Science, focusing on international environmental politics and policy.
